Complete Line Solutions for CSD Built by SEPPA

Running a carbonated soft drink plant is not simple. You are managing dissolved CO2 under pressure, precise brix levels, high speed filling heads, and hygiene-critical pipework all at the same time, all in sync. When any one of these variables drifts, you do not just lose a batch. You lose shelf life, consumer trust, and often a significant chunk of your line efficiency.
That is exactly the problem SEPPA set out to solve. Over more than 50 years and across 7,000+ installations worldwide, SEPPA has engineered complete line solutions from raw water intake through stretch wrap palletizing built around one core idea: a cold drink machine that does not just fill bottles but governs the entire production rhythm. A carbonated soft drink production line is only as reliable as its weakest integration point. Many manufacturers invest heavily in a single piece of equipment a filler, a carbonator, a labeler and then struggle to get consistent output because those machines were never designed to talk to each other.
SEPPA takes a different approach. Every cold drink machine configuration SEPPA delivers is engineered as a synchronized system, not an assembly of separate vendors. The blending section communicates flow rates to the carbonator. The carbonator feeds pressure data to the isobaric filler. The filler triggers downstream conveyors based on actual throughput, not an estimated cycle time. This closed-loop architecture is what separates a production line that runs from one that runs consistently. SEPPA is recognized as one of the largest manufacturers of CSD lines globally, with installations spanning small regional producers to multinational beverage groups. Whether you are filling 5,000 bottles per hour or 36,000, the engineering logic stays the same every stage of the line is designed around product integrity, not just machine speed.
CarbonatedSoftDrinkManufacturingProcessFlow
Walk through an actual production run on a SEPPA cold drink machine line and the sequence looks like this:
Treated water enters the proportioner alongside dissolved syrup. The magnetic flow meters lock in the target brix ratio, and the blended product moves into a plate heat exchanger that drops the temperature to the carbonation range. CO2 is dosed at controlled pressure in the saturation vessel SEPPA's systems maintain CO2 absorption consistency within 0.1 volumetric units across the entire batch.
The carbonated drink product then holds in a pressurized tank before entering the rotary filler. Each bottle PET, glass, or aluminium can enters the filling carousel under a controlled CO2 atmosphere. The isobaric valve sequence: pre pressurize, fill, shift, release. Caps are applied within seconds of fill completion to lock in the CO2 volume.
From there, filled bottles pass through an inspection station SEPPA integrates fill level and cap presence sensors as standard before entering labeling, coding, and pack off. The soft drink machine's HMI logs production data, downtime events, and OEE metrics in real time, giving plant managers actual numbers rather than estimated output.

CustomizedCSDLineSolutionsforEveryProductionCapacity
Not every plant starts at 20,000 bottles per hour, and not every plant stays at its original capacity. SEPPA builds CSD lines with expansion built in from the start.
For smaller operations, SEPPA offers standalone configurations a PET blowing machine paired with an R-F-C (Rinse Fill Cap) unit, a labeler, and end of line equipment that deliver full production capability without the capital cost of a fully integrated line. These units are designed so that a Kombo™ or Kombopure™ upgrade is a defined project, not an engineering rebuild.
The Kombopure™ takes integration further by combining blow, fill, and cap operations in a single hygienic enclosure, with aseptic filling capability for products requiring the highest sterility standards. For high volume producers, SEPPA's modular cold drink machine architecture allows capacity additions extra filling heads, parallel blending circuits, additional carbonation stages without shutting down the existing line.
Moreover, SEPPA has successfully integrated lightweight PET bottle technology into their blowers. The bottles that are produced using the SEPPA equipment are capable of achieving an average weight reduction by 25% compared to traditional bottles, yet they maintain a top load capacity that is greater than 30% higher than that of traditional bottles.

CompleteCSDLineMethodology
An integrated approach starting with feasibility study and ending with validation.
Feasibility Study & CAD Design
SEPPA's process for delivering a CSD line starts well before any equipment is fabricated. This is followed by the feasibility study where things like production quantity, product range, utility availability, physical constraints in the factory and regulations are all planned out even before specifying a single part. Based on these results, SEPPA’s engineers generate a CAD design for their plant layout.

Equipment Fabrication & QA
Equipment fabrication follows a documented QA process. Each soft drink machine module proportioner, carbonator, filler, CIP skid is factory acceptance tested before shipment. SEPPA's factory testing includes full carbonation trials at production speed to verify CO2 volumetric targets before the equipment leaves the facility.

Installation & Commissioning
On-site installation is managed by SEPPA's commissioning engineers, who oversee pipework completion, equipment alignment, and control system integration. The site acceptance test runs the complete carbonated drink line at rated speed for a defined period, with product samples verified against brix, CO2 volume, fill weight, and microbiological targets. Only when those parameters are confirmed does SEPPA hand over the line to the operator.
