A pneumatic pet blower uses compressed air, not hydraulics, to drive the stretch blow sequence: pre blow, main blow, and exhaust, all fired in tight sequence across dozens of cavities on a rotating carousel. Rotary architecture is what makes this practical at volume. Instead of a single station cycling preform after preform, a rotary pet blow molding machine indexes multiple stations continuously, so infeed, heating, blowing, and ejection happen in parallel rather than in a queue.
Why does the pneumatic side matter so much? Bottle wall thickness, base strength, and neck finish all depend on how precisely the air pressure ramps up and holds during the blow phase. Preforms enter on a continuous rotary infeed and move into the heating tunnel, where infrared lamps bring the PET to its stretch ready temperature window. From there, each preform transfers into a mold on the rotary carousel.
Low pressure pre blow
A stretch rod extends the preform while low pressure pre blow air, typically 8 to 12 bar, shapes the initial bubble.

High pressure main blow
Once material is distributed toward the base and shoulders, high pressure main blow air, often north of 35 bar, pushes it fully into the mold wall.

Pressure set and release
The bottle holds under pressure just long enough to set, then exhaust air releases before the mold opens and ejects the container.

Here's the part that separates rotary from linear: on a linear pet blowing machine, each station has to complete this entire sequence before the next preform can start. Throughput is capped by however many stations you can physically fit in a line, and by the fact they're often running in sequence rather than true parallel. A rotary pneumatic pet blow molding machine sidesteps that constraint entirely. While one station is exhausting, the next is already mid blow, and the one after that is just clamping.
